PRINTMAKING - See more work at print artists.caFlying Colours Artist’s Association has formed a creative and diverse printmaking community that is unique in BC, exceptional in Canada and dedicated to contemporary fine art printmaking. PRINT ARTISTS NORTH is a new wing of Flying Colours Artists' Association. More images and information may be found on our new website, http://printartists.ca Participating artists are dedicated to the promotion of both traditional and experimental printmaking practices and approaches throughout the Peace Region and beyond. A comprehensive range of printmaking programming includes workshops, mentorships, an annual Artist Retreat and Printmaking Exchanges. Printmaking Marathons including demonstrations and displays are open to the public for viewing. One exhibition a year at Peace Gallery North in Fort St. John is a specific presentation of contemporary print culture. To date, members are creating prints using a wide variety of processes: lino cuts including reduction, monoprints (stencil, contact, watercolour, lift or trace, embossed, multi-media, chin colle’), various types of collagraphs , etching of many types, intaglio, lithograph, solar, sugar lifts, cyanotypes and more. A variety of special events serve to educate the public about processes used to create original hand-pulled prints, offer opportunities for sales and raise funds for the continued development and enhancement of the printmaking studio.
